About Us

The Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild of Sulphur Springs, Texas was founded in March of 1998. We are a very active group of women and men who love quilting. We have an annual judged quilt show each year in September during the Hopkins County Fall Festival.

If you have an interest in quilting as a beginner or an advanced quilter you will enjoy being with others who share your interest. We have programs and workshops with experienced teachers who teach us new techniques and spark our creativity.

Individual Membership Dues are $20.
Combined Family Membership Dues are $35.

If you would like to join as a member of the Guild, please come to our monthly meetings, fourth Monday of each month, at the Senior Citizens Building. We gather for light refreshments at 5:30 and the meeting will start at 6:00 PM

One of our members, Melba Diamond, wrote a poem that expresses the way a lot of quilters feel about quilting:

Making a quilt is a lesson in living
I find joy in quilting
And I find joy in giving

Nothing is perfect
But I don't worry or sweat
I just keep on trying
I'm not finished yet

Soon perfection will come
But it will be from above
When I'm wrapped in the
Beautiful quilt of God's love
